| We met at the RSL here in Boronia, just round the corner from where I live. The RSL (Returned Services League) is very similar to the British Legion. Apart from providing a meeting place for old, and not so old diggers, they do much good work for the older veterans and families. It is also the only place drunks like us get to play at being soldiers and not get thrown in jail!!! It was great to catch up with Ken again. Lots of stories and "do you remember ........". With the help of a couple of SVN Vets we went till close to 2 AM Sat. Managed to get lost (in 400 metres) when Ken's better half, Liz, drove home. Ken and I are looking to try and increase the numbers next time we get together. Lynn |
