Off topic but I emailed Teresa today about a TV drama called COBRA - it is a politics thing about a disaster.  The chap playing the UK PM is Robert Carlyle, I think he was in Train Spotting. Anyway both Teresa and I thought he looks like Tony so I thought that I would tell her.  He was more like Tony when he was acting in his younger days.  I don't know whether she will come on here or even look at the website but I wanted to include her.  She occasionally came on before.  He has moved in to Hexham town now. I will give Alby Simpson a nudge. No reply from Ray Jordan yet

Another test in my quest to resolve the 'email to activate' problem.

Hi Lee and Pam

Still slow to load - 2min 27sec on my Win Desktop. But can live with that. My MacBook (Safari) simply times out at the 10-12 minute mark.
Pretty quiet here, just heard that WA has gone into lockdown thanks to Indian travelers coming in with their particular Covid variant...

I can feel some more State Border closures coming on...

Just what we need with our 2020 Jun and July Army reunions being put off to June and July 2021, in Townsville, QLD and Tweed Heads, NSW respectively

 8) :)

I am still experiencing slowness of loading and went to make my bed while it loaded today.  Will it be my system or what?  Tomorrow when I boot up I will test my internet speed and then log on to the MB.

Thanks for the input Ken, and apologies for tardy response.

I have to say that after suspicious/unfriendly AV suites, my thoughts turned to Safari (Apple users have my undying sympathy ;D ;D ;D ;D)

At one stage of my testing, on my IBM compat, I tried the Windows compliant Safari (5.1.7) but it wouldn't let me access the site at all. Zero progress.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

For what it's worth:
i7 930 3.2Ghz (older than its owner)
12GB RAM
512GB SSD
6 TB SATA3 6GBs Archive storage
GTX460 GPU (same age as processor above)
Win 10 20H2
50Mbps NBN (currently downloading @60Mbps !!!)

Cheers
Lee

Thanks for you patience, determination and hard work. Lee. Still slow to load/reload. But them's the breaks, eh.
I'm using my HP Win Desktop to access the Board, as neither my MacBook nor iPhone will load it (time out after 10 minutes). Got me perplexed because I thought it might have been my AV software. However, I'm running the Win version of the same AV program on here...Ha!
Another one of life's mysteries

Cheers

The webpage takes a long time to load, but maybe that is my system. The fact that I have an ssd will not make any difference, it must be my wifi/internet. :(

It was lovely to read all the old messages on the GB.  I am still finding the MB a little hard to make sense of but I will soon get used to it.  Love all you are doing. I want Ernie to come on here but I don't think he is interested these days.  ;)

I am saying thumbs up because I do not want to appear to be thick as you know what.  But, hey,  I am a very old lady who does silly things like deleting Microsoft Office and then not knowing how it happened.  I couldn't resurrect it so I have to buy another .  The chap who fitted my SSD put Windows on and also Office, so that is what went into oblivion. :(
